SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP 2011-12 BIDWELL CUP
Each team will play four 2-Day matches, plus four 1-Innings matches. The top two teams to meet in a 2-day final played on 25-26 February under extended hours as per Hawke Cup Zone 2 Playing Conditions. The winner of the Final shall be determined as follows: (1) Outright Victory (2) Outright Tie – the championship shall be shared regardless of result of first innings (3) Victory on First Innings (4) Abandoned - No result on first innings – the top qualifier shall be declared the winner
Hours of play 12 noon to 7pm, with a minimum 100 overs in a day. On the second day a minimum of sixteen ( 16) overs shall be bowled in the last hour. Sessions: 12.00pm to 2.10pm 2.30pm to 4.40pm 5.00pm to 7.00pm ABANDONMENT If the first day’s play is abandoned without play, or cancelled, the second day shall be played as a ONE INNINGS MATCH. SUBSTITUTIONS On the second day of a Senior 2-day match, two (2) full replacements are permitted unless both captains agree to further changes. When representative matches clash with 2-day club fixtures, all representative players can be replaced. Umpires and opposing captains shall be notified of any changes before the commencement of play. Replacements are not permitted to continue a batting innings of a replaced player.
Bonus Points: On 1st Innings only (1st 60 overs) Batting Bowling 1 point 125 runs 3 wickets 2 points 150 runs 4 wickets 3 points 175 runs 6 wickets 4 points 200 runs 8 wickets 5 points 225 runs 9 wickets Other Points: 1st Innings Win 5 points 1st Innings Loss 0 points 1st Innings Tie 3 points No Result 3 points Outright points – additional to 1st Innings Points Outright Win 10 points Outright Tie 5 points Outright Loss 0 points Maximum 25 points can be earned by a team Hours: 12 noon to 7pm with a minimum 104 overs in a day. At the end of the first innings the number of overs remaining in the day shall be recalculated at a rate of 16 overs per hour. NB: There is NO 16 overs in the last hour
Breaks: After 40 overs and 60 overs. Flexibility and common sense is needed. If a team is dismissed or declares, or their innings is close to ending the break should be taken at that time. Compulsory Declaration: The team batting first must declare at no more than 60 overs. Fielding Restrictions 2-Day fielding restrictions and wides apply Bowling Restriction A bowler may bowl a maximum of 15 overs in an innings. Weather Disruption There is NO recalculation of scores in the event of weather disruption. Any recalculation of overs to be played shall be based on 16 overs per hour. POINTS Bonus Points: As per 2-Day matches Other Points: Outright Win: 10 points Tie: 5 points Winning Draw: 5 points Losing Draw 3 points No Result: 3 points Outright Loss: 0 points
RESULTS Outright Win: The team batting first has the higher score and has completely dismissed the team batting second. Or the team batting second has passed the runs scored by the team batting first. Tie: The scores are tied and there is no further play Winning Draw: The team batting first has the higher score and has not completely dismissed the team batting second. Losing Draw: The team batting second has scored less runs than the team batting first but is not all out. No Result: Play is abandoned before the team batting second innings commences.
OVER RATES Teams are required to maintain a minimum over rate of sixteen ( 16) overs per hour. Failure to do so shall result in loss of points on report from official umpires. Less than 16 overs per hour but more than 15= 0.5 pt, Less than 15 overs per hour but more than 14 = 1.0 pt. Less than 14 overs per hour = 2.0 pts. This to be calculated over the entire match. Due consideration shall be given to loss of wickets or other factors such as location, condition of ground and any other reasonable factors as determined by the umpires.
